In Violet

Red, blue, lime, yellow, purple. Black.

Swaying and breathing, in and out, pulsing like a heart.

We fall, through life, through time. At birth, we’re dropped down the hole, sinking faster and faster towards the bottom. The lights behind us fade: baby blue to white, white to yellow. Like a flame dying, suffocated. Yellow to orange. Orange to red. Red to purple.

Down the hole we go.

And go.

And go.

Until we’re in violet.

and then it’s black.

forever black

This is what you see in the dark. Whispers like breath.
